When my mother was Mayor of Gordon's Bay in the late 1960s and 70s, she and the then town Clerk HENry Hutton and fellow councillor DON Matthews set up HENDON park which was initially opened with disaster housing which they bought from the Tulbagh Municipality which they had used to house victims of the 1969 earthquake. We lived in Gordon's Bay in my parents house till about 5 years ago - lovely place to live, we were lucky to be on the mountainside with little or no wind.
